Escape from the Farm

The weather has been so nice lately, I couldn't stand it any more - I had to go for a ride. So Monday after finishing up some more welding on the hay roof (that should have been done Sat - see lesson 3 below), I loaded up, and fired up the Goldwing and headed for Ouray, Colorado. It was a beautiful ride over to there. Colorado is just beginning to green up. I stayed at a Comfort Inn. People must have thought a Goldwing convention was starting up as there were 4 bikes parked out front that night.

On Tuesday after a little hike around town, I headed south towards Silverton and Durango. The temps in the 50s, but the sun was out and there was virtually no traffic and what pretty morning up and over the passes. I pass 12 Goldwings going north. Another convention?

At 3 different points you have to climb to over 10,000 feet. Snow along side the road. Little streams everywhere. Waterfalls everywhere. Lots of waterfalls. It was so cool. Finally getting into Durango, I turn west and head home. It got windy for a while. But not bad. I could easily do this ride again.
