I forgot to add these two items.
First when we were trying to get the bull loaded into the stock trailer, I was in the bull pen with him and trying to get him to go thru the loading chute. The bull started to turn up the chute and then decided - Nope - not going. So it turned around and looked me in the eye and there was this little gleam that told me - RUN!!!! Can't run very far in the bull pen though - so it was up and over the six foot high railings - very rapidly and not in a very grace full method either. I could feel the bulls hot breath on my butt as I jumped and rolled over the top railing and fell to the ground on the other side. Looking up, I was head to head with the bull and it was pawing the ground and wanting to charge -but luckily there were nice strong pipes between me and it. This is not the friendliest bull we have ever had. So this is what it is like to be a rodeo clown.
The other story is not about us, but about our neighbor who also has cows. He is a bishop. His calf got into our field and no matter how much the momma called, it would not go back through the fences. So he and his son decided to come rope it. He was wearing a white shirt with bib overalls. The son in shorts and tivas. He on a fourwheel pulling a little flat bed trailer, the son standing on the trailer and trying to throw a rope. Quite the show - I would kill for a picture to post. The son did manage to get a rope on one back leg but could not get him thrown, till I got another rope and caught the head.
Who needs to pay to go to a rodeo -we have one here almost daily.

Yeah, that mad dash over the bull pen was epic! Best rodeo in town, and I had a front row seat :)
